Physician-Supervised IV Hydration

IV therapy delivers fluids, and in some cases vitamins or other ingredients, directly into a vein under clinical supervision. At LavION Health in Phoenix, every infusion begins with a provider review of your health history—so the decision reflects your needs, not a menu choice.

Treatment requires evaluation by a licensed provider. Eligibility is determined by a physician. Individual results vary.

01 / Understanding Your Options

What is iv therapy?

Intravenous (IV) therapy is the administration of fluids through a small catheter placed in a vein. In hospitals it is a routine part of care for dehydration and many other conditions. In a wellness setting, IV hydration is typically offered to adults who want to discuss rehydration, or an infusion that includes vitamins, electrolytes, or other ingredients, in a calm, supervised environment.

Because an infusion enters the bloodstream directly, it is a medical procedure rather than a beverage or supplement. That is why LavION Health treats IV therapy as physician-guided care. A licensed provider reviews your health history, current medications, allergies, and relevant conditions before deciding whether an infusion is appropriate and which formulation, volume, and rate make sense. Some people are better served by oral hydration, a meal, rest, or a different medical evaluation.

Wellness IV therapy is often marketed with sweeping promises about energy, immunity, recovery, or anti-aging. The evidence for many of those claims in healthy adults is limited. Most people meet their vitamin needs through food, and the body regulates fluid and electrolytes closely. We present IV therapy honestly: it may be a reasonable option to discuss for hydration in certain circumstances, but it is not a cure, a detox, or a substitute for sleep, nutrition, or medical care.

Arizona heat, travel, long outdoor events, and demanding schedules are common reasons people ask about IV hydration. Those situations deserve a careful conversation, including warning signs that call for urgent care instead. Significant vomiting, confusion, chest pain, fainting, or symptoms of heat illness require emergency evaluation—not an elective wellness appointment.

LavION Health is a physician-guided medical wellness practice based in Phoenix, Arizona, led by Medical Director Dr. Keith Johnson. Patients in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Arcadia, and the greater Phoenix area can ask about available IV therapy options, including infusions offered as part of a Concierge Wellness experience. Availability, formulations, and setting are confirmed individually and depend on clinical review.

02 / Treatment Options

A closer look at
your options.

Information first. Individual evaluation always.
Availability and suitability require clinical confirmation.

01

IV Hydration

IV hydration typically uses a sterile fluid such as saline or a balanced electrolyte solution. It may be discussed when someone wants to rehydrate after heat exposure, travel, or exertion and an infusion is clinically appropriate. Oral fluids remain the first and simplest option for most mild dehydration; an IV is not automatically faster or better for everyone.

Before an infusion, your provider considers heart and kidney health, blood pressure, medications such as diuretics, and any symptoms that could signal a more serious problem. The volume and rate are clinical decisions. People with certain heart, kidney, or liver conditions can be harmed by excess fluid, which is one reason a screening conversation comes first.

02

Vitamin & Nutrient Infusions

Some infusions add vitamins, such as B vitamins or vitamin C, or minerals such as magnesium, to the fluid. Clinical uses of IV nutrients exist for diagnosed deficiencies or for people who cannot absorb nutrients normally. For healthy adults seeking general wellness, the benefit over a balanced diet is not well established, and more is not necessarily better.

Your provider reviews allergies, medications, and conditions that may affect whether an ingredient is suitable. For example, high-dose vitamin C is not appropriate for everyone and may require specific screening. Ingredients that are compounded must come from appropriate sources; ask what is in an infusion, where it is prepared, and why it is being recommended for you.

03

Event & Concierge IV Therapy

IV therapy is offered as part of a LavION Health Concierge Wellness experience at golf tournaments, retreats, and private events. Each guest who wishes to receive an infusion still completes an individual screening and consent with a licensed clinician. Event planning conversations never include guests’ medical information.

Event settings call for the same standards as a clinic: trained staff, sterile supplies, appropriate monitoring, and a clear plan for anyone who becomes unwell. A guest may be advised not to receive an infusion, and that decision belongs to the clinician. Event hosts can request an experience through the Concierge Wellness page.

03 / Individual Eligibility

Is this right
for you?

Eligibility is determined by a licensed provider after reviewing your health history, current medications, allergies, and how you are feeling on the day. Some people are advised to hydrate orally, seek a different evaluation, or skip an infusion entirely.

A conversation may be appropriate if…

Adults who want to discuss IV hydration with a provider after heat, travel, or exertion.

People who prefer a supervised, screened approach rather than a walk-in drip menu.

Guests at LavION Health Concierge Wellness events who complete individual screening.

Pause and discuss with a physician if…

Seek emergency care for chest pain, fainting, confusion, severe vomiting, or signs of heat stroke.

Heart failure, kidney disease, and certain other conditions can make extra IV fluid unsafe.

Pregnancy, allergies, and some medications require individual review before any infusion.

An Informed Perspective

IV hydration or oral hydration?

For most mild dehydration, drinking fluids with electrolytes works well. IV hydration may be considered in particular circumstances when a provider believes it is appropriate. Neither option replaces evaluation of serious symptoms.

Safety & Clinical Judgment

What should you know before proceeding?

Placing an IV carries risks including discomfort, bruising, fluid leaking into surrounding tissue (infiltration), vein irritation, infection, and, rarely, more serious complications. Sterile technique and trained staff reduce—but do not eliminate—these risks. Tell your clinician right away about pain, swelling, or redness at the site.

Too much fluid, or fluid given too quickly, can be harmful for people with heart, kidney, or liver conditions. Certain vitamins and minerals can interact with medications or be unsafe for specific conditions. That is why a provider reviews your history and makes the final decision about whether an infusion should happen.

IV therapy is not appropriate for medical emergencies. Heat stroke, severe dehydration, chest pain, fainting, or confusion require emergency services. If you feel unwell during or after an infusion—shortness of breath, swelling, rash, dizziness, or fever—seek care promptly and let the LavION Health team know.

Patient & Event Perspectives

Care, in their own words.

I've looked into weight-management programs before, and so many of them seemed to jump straight to a product. What stood out about the LavION Health approach was the emphasis on my health history, my actual goals, and what would be realistic in everyday life. I liked being able to ask questions without feeling pushed toward a specific answer. The focus on physician review and a plan that makes sense for the individual made the whole process feel more thoughtful.

Medical Weight Loss

Trying to understand medical weight-loss options on your own can get confusing fast. I had questions about eligibility, appointments, and what happens after an initial assessment. What I liked most was how clearly the steps were explained. There wasn't a promise of some overnight transformation, just a straightforward explanation of how a physician evaluates the options and what appropriate follow-up could look like. That was the kind of clarity I was looking for.

Medical Weight Loss

I had been reading about peptides for months, but every website seemed to claim something different. It was refreshing to find an approach that takes the questions seriously and doesn't pretend every peptide is right for every goal. I wanted to understand the evidence, possible risks, and what a physician would actually consider before recommending anything. The emphasis on getting informed first was a big part of what made LavION Health stand out to me.

Injectable Peptide Therapy

I came in curious but also a little skeptical, which I think is fair with how much noise there is around wellness treatments. What impressed me was the measured tone. The focus was on understanding my questions, explaining why a medical evaluation matters, and acknowledging that an injectable treatment isn't automatically the right next step. That kind of straightforward communication goes a long way when you're trying to make a decision about your health.

Injectable Peptide Therapy

Regenerative medicine is one of those subjects where it's easy to find dramatic claims and much harder to find a balanced explanation. I was interested in learning more, but I didn't want anyone promising a result before understanding my situation. I liked that LavION Health frames this as an educational, physician-guided conversation. Being able to ask about the science, regulatory limitations, and whether further evaluation even makes sense is far more useful to me than hearing another miracle story.

Regenerative Medicine

I wasn't looking for a quick fix. I wanted to better understand what people mean when they talk about regenerative medicine and how to separate established information from speculation. The LavION Health approach caught my attention because it leaves room for those important conversations. Instead of treating a consultation like a guaranteed path to treatment, it puts physician judgment, honest explanations, and realistic expectations at the center. That's exactly how a health-related discussion should feel.

Regenerative Medicine

When we started planning a golf event, we wanted to bring in something that would feel fresh without being out of place at the club. The LavION Health concierge wellness concept appealed to us because it starts with the audience and the setting rather than a standard package. I especially liked the attention to customization, guest experience, and communication around the details. For a tournament or member gathering, having a wellness element that feels intentional makes a difference.

Concierge Wellness

For a corporate event, we wanted something more interesting than another branded table or giveaway. What drew us to LavION Health was the ability to discuss a wellness experience around the type of guests attending, the atmosphere, and what we wanted the day to feel like. The concept is flexible enough for a professional group without losing that premium, personal touch. It feels like the kind of experience people would actually stop to explore and remember.

Your Questions, Answered

IV Therapy
FAQs

Clear answers for a considered decision.

What is IV therapy?

IV therapy delivers fluid, and sometimes vitamins or minerals, through a small catheter in a vein. At LavION Health it is physician-guided: a licensed provider reviews your history before deciding whether an infusion is appropriate.

Do I need a screening before an IV?

Yes. Every infusion begins with a review of your health history, medications, allergies, and current symptoms. The provider may recommend oral hydration or another option instead.

How long does an infusion take?

Timing depends on the fluid, volume, and rate the provider selects. Ask the team for an estimate when you schedule; plan time for screening and a short period of observation as well.

Will an IV give me more energy or boost immunity?

Those claims are not well supported for healthy adults. An infusion may help with hydration in certain circumstances, but LavION Health does not promise energy, immunity, detox, or anti-aging results.

Is IV hydration better than drinking water?

Not for everyone. For mild dehydration, oral fluids with electrolytes are usually effective. IV hydration is considered when a provider believes it is appropriate for your situation.

What are the risks?

Possible risks include bruising, discomfort, infiltration, vein irritation, infection, allergic reactions to ingredients, and fluid overload in people with certain conditions. Your clinician will review these with you.

Can I get IV therapy at an event?

Yes. IV therapy is offered as part of a Concierge Wellness experience. Each guest is screened individually and gives consent; hosts never share guests’ medical information with us during planning.

Who should not receive IV therapy?

People with certain heart, kidney, or liver conditions, some allergies, pregnancy, or specific medications may not be suitable. Anyone with emergency symptoms should seek emergency care instead.

How much does IV therapy cost?
